CEYES Wins the Climate Is Big Business Challenge San Francisco May 24th 2017

The Climate Is Big Business conference has highlighted benefits of climate smart business solutions and innovations. Welcoming CEYES to attend this great event.

The emphasis was on the importance of the transition toward strong resilient economies and societies that are healthy, equitable and innovative. The Dutch Minister Sharon Dijksma attended the conference to attain expertise regarding circular economies, climate and zero emission vehicles.

The first day consisted of meeting Bill Weihl, who was names as one of the Heroes of Environment for the Time Magazine in 2009.  He manages sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives at Facebook and was a great host for the HQ and roof garden (LEED Gold), where he presented Facebook’s sustainability program: the 100% sustainable energydatacentres initiative.

After this, at the Seminar at the Cuckoo’s Nest, Silicon Valley, CEYES got the chance to present their innovative, circular business case to win presenting at the Climate Is Big Business conference. The panel consisted of:

Mukul Agarwal, Founder & CEO of BootUP ventures
Guus Velders, Professor air quality and climate interactions at Utrecht University
Karen Janowski, VP Client Services of Prospect SV
Marcel Beukeboom, Climate Envoy, Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment

CEYES was named the winner in regards to the Circular Economy presentations, “Our goal is to keep the materials locally“.

 The Climate Is Big Business conference consisted of great speakers such as, as Governor
Jerry Brown, Matt Rodriquez (Secretary for environmental protection, Californian EPA) and Minister Sharon Dijksma (Minister for the Environment, Netherlands)

The CEYES Circular Solution was greatly received at the conference. The CEYES concept was found so innovative by the Jury and the Dutch minister Infrastructure and Environment that they will be helping CEYES with introducing the circular concept in the USA, starting with California.
